47 Ronin Stills

I worked on 47 Ronin at Digital Domain a few years back. I was a lighting and Lookdev artist. Here are some stills from the film that I got to work on. I was also in charge of the main environment lighting and template for the other artists to use. These were all set extensions. The main set when filmed only had some foreground elements, and made up of about 15 percent of the fully built environment.

This was the establishing shot for the sequence. It was a fun shot to work on. Everything beyond this foreground bridge and entry wall was CG. The rooftops on the entry wall were CG, too.

Here you can see what was actually on-set.
